National Australia Bank 'considers outsourcing'
20/08/2008(11:43 AM)

The National Australia Bank (NAB) could outsource up to 400 jobs after a review of its banking operations.

It is currently in the final stages of reviewing the possibility of outsourcing which could eventually lead to jobs in its technology banking and wealth management departments being transferred.

The Economic Times reports that any restructuring will be organised over the next two months, being monitored by a team of its skilled management team.

Michelle Tredenick, NAB chief information officer, told the newspaper that structural changes may be "rolled out to other business units".

"It recognises that we'll be rebalancing our investment between business as usual and NexGen and must therefore consolidate our capabilities to free up capacity to focus on the significant transition activity ahead," she added.

It was recently revealed that building firm The Wideform Group is set to expand its operations in New South Wales.

ABC Illwarra reported that over 150 jobs could be created in Wollongong over the next year.
